National Scrollathon
America’s Cultural Project for the 250th Anniversary
More than 10,000 people across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and five U.S. territories came together over eight years to participate in National Scrollathon.
Through 59 collaborative exhibitions and public programs, participants of every age, background, and community contributed their stories, creativity, and voices to help build a collective portrait of contemporary America.
As this first chapter reaches its public culmination, we are committed to preserving what was created.
We are producing a limited-edition, 256-page publication documenting the complete National Scrollathon journey.
Bringing together artworks, photographs, participant voices, and reflections from across the country, the publication will serve as a permanent archival record and ensure these experiences remain accessible for future generations.
This publication transforms a temporary moment into a lasting cultural resource.
At the same time, we are launching Phase Two of National Scrollathon to continue building connection across America through future exhibitions, public programs, partnerships, and participation.
